I used Denbrock for homeowners insurance for a few years. When I cancelled it, due to getting new insurance, I REALLY got the runaround. I had originally cancelled in April and asked that it be backdated to January because that's when the new insurance started. I was told it wouldn't be a problem. In July (3 months after cancelling) I got a letter from Great Lakes Mutual (who Denbrock goes through for Insurance) stating that I needed to pay over $500 for my next year of insurance. I called Denbrock and explained the letter I got. I was told not to pay it and that they would take care of it because I never should have gotten that letter. A month later I got online to make my house payment and decided to check my account info and it STILL showed Great Lakes Mutual as my insurer! I then sent an email to Denbrock and told them it needed to be taken care of ASAP and that I wanted the money back that had continued being paid to them (escrow). 3 days later still no response, so I send another email and get a very short response saying "I need your new insurance declarations" and that was it. Also, you can rarely ever get an answer when you call. It's just all around an unprofessional business. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and I try not to be rude to people when I'm inconvenienced, but after 6 months of trying to get this cancelled, I'd had enough. Obviously I don't recommend this company unless you plan on NEVER cancelling with them.
